Crystal Drop (Green Toilet) is a part of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Tatau project in order to help the environment and make the world a better place for our future generation. Crystal Drop or better known as UPA, acronym from Unit Penjimatan Air (Water Conservation Unit) is an initiative solution to save water effortlessly by using our toilet everyday. I mean come on, toilet is basically one of our essential need. Crystal Drop is a well established project as it is recognised by the Bintulu District Authority and also Petronas All About Youth competition. The main objective of this project is to expose the society especially youth on the importance of conserving water and also to educate them on how to conserve the water as well.
How does UPA works?
UPA is a form of cylinder container that is placed inside the toilet tank. Whenever it flushes, UPA will save up to 1 liter of water. Just imagine how much water you will save by doing so. The standard toilet tank is said to have unnecessary extra water to flush and by taking that 1 liter off, it still does function well and this theory has been proved by this group of youth.
